I hired Greentech to install ductwork and a heat pump in my home. My experience with them was very frustrating and here’s why: -We were told the job would be done within a week but it took over a month because Greentech had booked so many other jobs they were juggling me with many others -Andrew was going to install a ductopus (google it) but thankfully he sub’d out the ductwork job to another HVAC contractor (because he was too busy at the time) who actually knew sheetmetal and tore down the ductopus and started redoing the ductwork (they were only on the job for one day unfortunately before Greentech came back to continue the job) -I ended up stoping the job before Andrew finished the ductwork because I saw the connections of the flex duct weren’t very airtight and the flex duct was sagging in some parts which makes it less efficient -I repeatedly asked for a heat load calculation that he said he would do but never showed me -I asked for him to draw out a plan of the ductwork that was going to install because I was starting to get the sense he didn’t know what he was doing when he started to install the ductopus but he did not -I called him back to fix a refrigerant leak a few months later and he did not do the procedure correctly. I know because I had the instructions from the manufacturer with me and despite my insistence that he do it that way and showing him the instructions, he did not. Later on when I called another HVAC company to fix it properly, they drained the system, did a leak test and recharged it with the correct amount of refrigerant as per manufacturer's spec. This is in contrast with what Andrew did which was tighten up the leak until it visibly stopped and charged the system by pressure. You can’t tell how many pounds of refrigerant is in the system by pressure. In the end Andrew only charged the system up with 7 lbs of refrigerant when the system needed 9 lbs so my efficient heat pump was not efficient. -He’s not a BC Hydro Heat Pump contractor so you won’t be able to get your rebate Please when you hire any HVAC company, not just Greentech, make sure you -Ask your contractor to show you their certifications (Journeyman certification) -I did not ask Andrew so I don’t know if he has one -Make sure they communicate and answer you directly instead of dancing around your questions -They do a heat load calculation and show you so they know what equipment is actually needed -Registered with BC Hydro as an approved contractor if you want rebates -Show pictures of their work and you can compare those pictures with what other contractors
Highly recommend Andrew and his professional, courteous team. They retro-fitted a heat pump system designed to work with my existing furnace. It was a complicated job with new technology and it all turned out great. I was only in town for a few days and they worked overtime to ensure it was done before I had to leave.

In January, our furnace gave up. It was at the peak of winter time. I called Greentech, and right away, Andrew came. Andrew assessed the problem and suggested recommendation as how to proceed. I have an old house and the furnace was old as well. So, I opted to have a new furnace installed. Andew was very thorough, professional, honest and above all, provide such an excellent service.
